Celebrating the 4th of July

July 4, 2021

July 4, 1776 is a day that represents the Declaration of Independence and the birth of the United States of America as an independent nation by severing its political connections with Great Britain. This meant that America was no longer under British rule due to the creation of unreasonable taxes by the British king. To simplify the past in its shortest amount of time, becoming an independent nation was not an easy task without the bravery of men and women in what is known as the Revolutionary War which was in full swing by June 1776. It was around that time many colonists favored the idea of becoming independent from British rule. Fighting between American and British forces continued until 1783 when the Treaty of Paris was signed; resulting in the formal recognition of the United States as being independent after 8 long years of fighting.


It is these types of past events has led to the freedoms enjoyed by the many in America. And now, we get to celebrate with spectacular firework shows, fun-filled outdoor events, and being in the company of family and friends.

So, what is there to do this year? I can bet that the events will be double the excitement to make up for last year. Below are a few places to visit for viewing fireworks or if you choose to hang around the community, check out the Beach & Tennis Club 4th of July celebration.

On the 4th of July day, the Beach & Tennis Club is having a celebration with food, games, music and loads of fun. Tickets do need to be purchased before they run out and it is for members only (no guests). The event starts to 10:00am - 6:00pm, so soak up the sun by the pool and enjoy being in the company of your neighbors / friends.

As for firework shows, I doubt there will be a shortage. Throughout Orange County, there are plenty of firework shows and outdoor events taking place.
